Please note these tests are taken separately. If you fail one test you only have to re-take that test.
With regard to the practical training we like to see candidates prior to taking their Theory/Hazard Perception tests to ascertain the amount of practical training required to reach test standard. This can either be a 1 day session (Introductory Day) when we cover both theory and hazard perception revision and practical driving, or 2 hours' practical driving only. It is after the intial training that we can give an exact quote for the costs involved but as a rough guide costs are:
2 hours' practical driving - £90 + VAT
Average courses - £800 to £1400 + VAT + £115 for the practical test fee.
Training is based upon £45.00 per hour + VAT
Please note that training carried out at weekends may attract an additional premium.
DRIVER CERTIFICATE OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE (DRIVER CPC)
With effect from 10 September 2009, candidates who pass their initial LGV Module 3 tests after that date and want to drive professionally (ie to be paid for driving an LGV vehicle) will have to pass two further modules to obtain their Driver CPC.
